Overview

IrisCX, a leading startup in Calgary, Alberta, needed to enhance its smart video conferencing platform for the construction industry. Facing scalability limits with their monolithic architecture and AWS infrastructure, they turned to CodeBricks. We migrated their platform from AWS to Google Cloud, re-engineered their system into a microservices architecture, and layered in AI-driven capabilities, advanced analytics, and key third-party integrations.enabling IrisCX's rapid growth and attracting major enterprise clients.

The Challenge

IrisCX's existing monolithic architecture had become a significant bottleneck as the company scaled. The single-system codebase was difficult to maintain, slow to develop against, and unable to handle growing traffic without performance degradation. Adding new features required navigating a complex, tightly coupled codebase, leading to delays and increased risk of regressions with every release. On the infrastructure side, IrisCX needed to move from AWS to Google Cloud to gain greater scalability, flexibility, and security controls suited to their enterprise-grade video platform. The combination of an aging monolith and a cloud environment that no longer fit their growth trajectory meant IrisCX needed a comprehensive re-engineering partner, not just a developer.

Research & Strategy

CodeBricks began with a full technical audit of IrisCX's existing system.mapping service boundaries, data flows, traffic patterns, and integration points. From that foundation, we designed a phased migration plan that would allow IrisCX to move from monolith to microservices without taking the platform offline. The AWS-to-Google Cloud migration was sequenced carefully to minimize downtime and de-risk each step of the transition. New AI-driven and enterprise features were designed in parallel and layered in incrementally as the new architecture stabilized.ensuring IrisCX's product roadmap kept moving while the infrastructure transformation was underway.
